A new Bangladesh will be constructed under new management: Jamaat Ameer

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman stated on Saturday that the country is now facing a new struggle against corruption, with the upcoming election expected to be a decisive battle against both fascism and corruption in the creation of a new Bangladesh.

In the past, we fought fascism and prevailed. "Now, in the Bangladesh of tomorrow, there will be another battle — against corruption," he said while speaking to a crowd at the ancient Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital. "We shall remain unified in the fight against corruption.
This is the first time Jamaat has conducted a protest at the historic site where Pakistan's occupying forces surrendered to international forces on December 16, 1971.

Leaders from many other organizations and organisations, including the National Citizen Party, Islami Andolan Bangladesh, Gono Odhikar Parishad, Khelafat Majlis, and Hefazat-e-Islam, also attended the Jamaat-organised gathering.

They emphasized the importance of forging strong solidarity among Islamic parties ahead of the next general election, believing that a united front of Islamic parties may pose a substantial challenge to any major political party in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

The Jamaat head expressed confidence that the party will win the war, stating, "We promise that if the Jamaat comes to power, we will protect the rights of farmers and workers." We shall seek justice for each massacre, including Pilkhana, Shapla, and July. We owe it to those who made the sacrifices that resulted in this new Bangladesh. We shall work to repay that debt throughout the duration of the Jamaat."

He emphasized that if his party forms the government, its leaders will serve the people as servants rather than rulers. Outlining vows for future politicians and ministers, he stated, "They will not accept government plots, ride in duty-free vehicles, or personally manage public cash.

Shafiqur slumped twice during his speech, which began at 5:00pm, but remained sat on stage and finished it.

The demonstration, held away from Jamaat's regular locations like Baitul Mukarram or Purana Paltan, focused on seven main objectives, including justice for state-sponsored killings, proportional representation in elections, and a level playing field for all parties.

Paying tribute to the martyrs of the July revolt, he stated that without the courage of heroes like Abu Sayed, today's Bangladesh would not exist. "As long as I live, I will fight for the people. "Our struggle will not end until the people of Bengal achieve their freedom," he declared.

Shafiqur rejected the existing political structure, stating, "This country can no longer function on a rotten, obsolete basis. So many people have died for freedom. "Why did they die if everything old still exists?"

Mia Golam Porwar, Jamaat Secretary General, stated that there is no alternative to Islamist unity in creating Bangladesh in the spirit of the public revolt.

Yunus Ahmad, Secretary General of Islami Andolan Bangladesh, expressed support for the Jamaat's seven-point demand and stated that they are trying to construct a New Bangladesh.

Jamaat Nayeb-e-Ameer Syed Abdullah Muhammad Taher chastised those who opposed proportional representation in elections.

NCP Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain stated, "To ensure a balance of power, elections for the upper house must use a proportional representation system based on vote ratios." Those who oppose this are fooling the nation.

Nurul Haq Nur, President of the Gono Odhikar Parishad, stated that the government must implement a fundamental shift in governance to honour the sacrifices made by students and the masses.
